Four years of TCFD reporting is a head start. It is not the whole of UK SRS.
UK SRS S1 and S2 are the UK endorsed versions of the ISSB global baseline. Most of the TCFD structure carries over. What has to be added is transition plan disclosure, industry based metrics and an evidence trail behind every figure. EcoLedger builds that record.

UK SRS builds on TCFD. The gap is narrower than it looks and deeper than it sounds.
Teams that have reported under TCFD usually find the four pillar structure familiar and the underlying evidence expectations unfamiliar. It is worth separating the two before scoping the work.
What TCFD gave you
The reporting architecture is largely the same, which is why a TCFD reporter is not starting from nothing.
- Governance and board oversight of climate
- Strategy and the identification of climate risks and opportunities
- Risk management processes and how climate is integrated into them
- Scenario analysis as a discipline, and the habit of documenting it
- Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions
What UK SRS adds
The additions are mostly about specificity: which metric, for which industry, supported by what.
- Transition plan disclosure, in substance rather than in intent
- Industry based metrics expected for your sector
- Cross industry metric categories reported consistently
- Scope 3 built out category by category, with data quality recorded
- An evidence trail behind each reported figure, ready for review
Most of a TCFD report can be mapped across in a working session. The rest is a data problem, and data problems are solved by structure rather than by drafting.
Start with what you actually have to publish.
A complete UK SRS S1 and S2 disclosure, cited to the standard, with the calculations, industry metrics and evidence that sit behind every figure in it.
- S1Governance, oversight and the risk management process
- S2Climate risks and opportunities, resilience and the transition plan
- GHGScope 1, Scope 2 and all fifteen Scope 3 categories, on DESNZ factors
- METRICSCross industry and industry based metrics, with climate targets
- CITEDEach statement carrying the UK SRS requirement it satisfies
Board oversight, responsibilities and controls
Risks, opportunities, transition plan and resilience
Identification, assessment and monitoring
Emissions, industry metrics and climate targets
One reporting process, from source data to a cited disclosure.
Build the numbers on the reporting year factors.
Scope 1, Scope 2 on both location and market basis, and Scope 3 across all fifteen categories, using DESNZ factors matched to the reporting year with IPCC global warming potentials, and the PCAF method where financed emissions apply.
Close the requirements, and know which are new.
Every UK SRS requirement is tracked against the datapoints, narrative and evidence needed to satisfy it, with what was already covered under TCFD distinguished from what UK SRS adds.
Build a report that cites the standard.
Governance, strategy, transition plan, scenarios, metrics and targets are assembled into a disclosure in which each statement carries the requirement it satisfies, then exported in Word, PDF or HTML with footnotes intact.
Calculate. Map. Disclose.
See how EcoLedger maps a TCFD report onto UK SRSResilience has to be assessed, documented and repeatable.
UK SRS S2 asks for climate resilience to be tested across physical and transition risk. The point is not the pathway chosen. It is that the assumptions are written down clearly enough for someone else to challenge them and for you to run the same analysis again next year.
Rapid policy and market change. Carbon pricing, technology substitution and shifting customer demand are the exposures tested.
Slower transition with material physical effects. Both sides of the risk picture are assessed against the same strategy.
Acute and chronic physical exposure across sites, supply chain and operations, assessed at asset level where the data supports it.
Scenario analysis is only useful the second time you run it. Build it so there is a second time.
Start with UK SRS. Extend when the perimeter does.
Because UK SRS is the UK endorsed form of the ISSB baseline, the same underlying data supports other adoptions of that baseline, and the same emissions record supports statutory energy and carbon reporting.
Sites, subsidiaries, business units and group consolidation.
The same inventory supports the energy and carbon figures required in the Directors' Report.
Reuse the same underlying data across related sustainability disclosures.

What are UK SRS S1 and S2?
They are the UK endorsed versions of IFRS S1 and IFRS S2, the ISSB global sustainability disclosure standards. They are available to use now, and adoption is expected to broaden across listed and larger companies. Reporting on them early means a later requirement becomes a refresh rather than a first implementation.
How does UK SRS differ from TCFD?
UK SRS keeps the four pillar structure that TCFD reporters already know and goes further on specificity. The main additions are transition plan disclosure, cross industry metric categories, industry based metrics for your sector, Scope 3 built out category by category, and an evidence trail behind each reported figure. EcoLedger distinguishes what was already covered under TCFD from what UK SRS adds.
Which emission factors are supported?
DESNZ factors across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 with IPCC global warming potentials, matched to the reporting year rather than the current year, so prior year comparatives and restatements stay consistent. IEA grid factors cover international operations, and the PCAF method is available for financed emissions.
Do we have to do scenario analysis?
Yes. UK SRS S2 calls for climate resilience to be assessed using scenario analysis across physical and transition risk. EcoLedger provides a structured methodology, templates and drafted narrative across a 1.5 °C, a 2 °C and a 3 °C or higher pathway, with the assumptions recorded so the analysis can be reviewed and repeated.
Does this also cover our SECR figures?
The same emissions inventory supports statutory energy and carbon reporting, so UK energy use, Scope 1 and Scope 2 and an intensity ratio can be produced from the record already built for UK SRS rather than compiled separately.
Bring last year's TCFD report. We will show you the UK SRS gap in it.
Bring an existing climate report, an emissions spreadsheet or a transition plan that has never quite been written down. We will map it into the EcoLedger process and show you what the reporting record would look like.
